 3. Save Strategically

Trim everyday expenses to build your trip fund:

• Cut back on subscriptions or takeout
• Redirect small daily savings into a dedicated mission account
• Set a monthly savings goal and track progress

 4. Track and Manage Funds

• Keep receipts and log every expense
• Use a simple spreadsheet or budgeting app
• If you’re part of a team, designate a treasurer or financial lead

 5. Prepare for the Unexpected

• Build a contingency fund (10–15% of your budget)
• Check refund policies for flights and bookings
• Confirm if donations are tax-deductible for your supporters

1. Define Your Purpose

• Are you drawn to medical aid, education, construction, or spiritual outreach?
• Think about your skills and passions — even your baking talents could be a blessing in community outreach!

2. Choose a Destination

• Research communities in need, whether locally in South Africa or abroad.
• Consider cultural compatibility, safety, and language barriers.

3. Partner with an Organization

• Start with your local church or faith-based groups.
• Explore reputable NGOs like SIM to find opportunities.

4. Build a Budget

• Include travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, and project materials.
• Fundraising ideas: bake sales (your cookies could shine here!), sponsorship letters, or community events.

5. Recruit or Join a Team

• You can go solo with an organization or gather a group from your church or community.
• Team dynamics matter — shared values and complementary skills make a big difference.

6. Prepare Logistically

• Apply for passports and visas early.
• Get necessary vaccinations and travel insurance.
• Attend pre-trip training sessions for cultural awareness and safety.

7. Pack Smart

• Essentials: weather-appropriate clothing, first aid kit, insect repellent, journal, and a heart ready to serve.

8. Reflect and Debrief

• After your trip, share your experience with others.
• Consider how to continue supporting the community you visited — maybe through ongoing donations or remote collaboration.

This is a group where we advertise short trips to mission situations, both medical and non-medical. it is available to anyone who would like to be informed of trips arranged. these can range from long weekend to a week or two. students are welcome.

This is a group for health professionals who would like to give some of their holiday time to assist mission hospitals across the world, by providing assistance with skills they have and support and even distance linking to under served hospitals. Needs and opportunities will be posted as they come available.

This group is for pastors who want to encourage their whole churches to be involved in missions both in country and abroad. Pastors who themselves would like to be available for mission trips. Helpful material and discussion about raising mission support throughout the church will be posted and discussed.
